Default HD Bag Extensions

I think HD could make a lot more money if they sold these things in factory colors...

I know there is a seem and their useless except for looks but I for one would buy a set in black pearl...

Definitely...I tossed the thought around about getting these HD bolt-on's, but then started looking at the Cycle Smith's set again (black). I used to think they looked junky, but the slotted set would match my bag handles (HD edge cut). We'll see...maybe someday.

If HD was selling lots of bag extensions, they'd offer color-matched ones. They did exactly that with the saddlebag speaker lids--initially offered unpainted, but they were so popular they offered them color-matched.

By the way, there is no great savings buying painted lids or buying unpainted lids and having them painted locally, so I don't see this as a big deal. Just find a good, local painter.

Carl

PS: Personally, I'm not a fan of the longer bag look; and, the extensions don't work for me--kind of like a girl wearing falsies to boost the boob look--unless you need the additional surface for graphic paint work.

I agree HD would sell a lot more of them if they were available color matched.

I have a set of the all chrome Cyclesmiths bag extensions and trying to decide if I want to install them or not.

I have a set of the HD billet solid chrome latches that have the ball milled finish that would match the bags extensions. I also have the chrome front fender skirt on the bike. I'm thinking it will all look good together.

The Cyclesmiths have a unique look to them and I like having something that looks different than the rest of the herd. With all the other chrome on my bike I'm thinking they will look pretty cool.

Guess I need to just go ahead and install them and see how they look.

Would have been nice to buy them color matched but they turned out great, I like the line where they attach, doesn't look like a billboard.
