Default HE will ride again, and we are greatful.

Five mo. and one day after we lost his brother to colon cancer,
she did not see him and he lost his left leg. We are lucky and
extremely greatful, we still have him. Making lemonaid from
lemons. He said he will ride again.
My question is does anyone know of someone that has lost a
leg just above the knee, and HOW is he riding today?
Will he have to have a 3 wheeler or the wheels that deplay
once the bike almost comes to a stop. What are our options?
Thank you for any and all input.................Tenn.Vol.

One of my best customers back in the day was an older fella who had lost his leg in a bike accident years ago. He just rides with a prosthetic.

I don't know if his loss was above the knee however, (come to think of it.)

I used to ride with a guy that had his leg taken just above the knee because of diabetes. He doesn't use a prosthetic. Just uses crutches to get around. He got a trike after the amputation and straps his crutches to the back. Works just fine for him, and he's able to still ride.

Medically I have absolutely no idea and wish I could help

Psychologically, and with all the evidence you have presented, I have absolutely NO doubt

A member on another forum I frequent posted pics of I believe a friend of his where he lost his left leg and had a, for lack of a better description, seat pad on an attached arm thing where his stub would rest on it. I believe the bike was electric shift or something, but I don't remember.

Buddy of mine was paralyzed below the waist when he and his wife were hit by a drunk douche bag. He wound up on a Harley powered custom trike and was tickled pink that he could still ride 2-up with his wife (whose injuries were less severe.)

Where there's a will there's a way. Let us know how it turns out.

Got a good bud that everyone refers to as one legged Kent. Guess how he got the name? Been riding with a prosthetic for 20+ years, since before prosthetics were good. And his is above the knee also. Matter of fact if you met Kent now you would not know he has a prosthetic leg from how he walks or rides.

Of course I'm sorry this has happened but there is no reason to think its the end of anything he normally does. Modern tech has come a long way!

They are doing amazing things with prosthetics these days. Best of luck.
