Morning, I have an 06 Ultra and am using the HD headset. I have to turn the volume up all the way for the CB and intercom. The Harley website says the headset is for 98 - later bikes. I have read about the 06 Ultra's being a 2-ohm speaker system. Does the ohms in the headset make a difference? I am looking at the J&M headset, but cannot find any spec's on both the HD and J&M headsets that state what ohms the headset are. Has anyone found the spec's of either of these heasets? Thanks.
Have you check with the HD dealer or contacted J&M to see if they have those spec. I have not had any problems with my Harley headset. Sorry, I could help more...just a thought. Good luck..
Yes, the Impedance of the headset does make a difference. It needs to be matched to the output of the amplifier driving it. It cannot be measured with an Ohm Meter, or multi meter since it is frequency dependent. Stick with the specs!
