Tearing the engine down to get ready for a 107 build and when I took the throttle body off I was a little surprised at the way the intake ports looked.





Does this look normal? ~48K on the engine. Always run 91 or 93 octane.

Here is what the heads look like.





Any thoughts? Right now mine is this is oil deposits from the breather blow by ports that push the oil mist back into the throttle body.

That'd be my guess. Valve color and carbon deposits look normal to me also. More carbon than I like to see, but not abynormyl.

 

Mine looked the same. You can buy stuff to clean them. Remove the MAP sensor first though. There's a special cleaner for them.

 

Thanks for the idea. Right now I am leaning towards having it ported and polished along with the heads.
