the J&M 7.25 are junk.
I shoulda known better in that J&M will not publish complete specs on the product.
Even when i emailed and asked.
The product does not live up to sales claims.
my experience is that the overall output level is similar to the stock speakers- the bass easily distorts, the high frequencies are uneven and screetchy.
ooops- considering I have over 35 years professional experience with musical and concert sound systems and I shoulda known better than to buy based on claims.
a replacement speaker set should work with the stock head unit and not require further amplification or expense- it should be designed to make efficient use of the power produced by the HK unit
some Riders suggest that the Boom audio speakers are a nice upgrade.

Although i havent heard any of there products i remember seeing there line at bike week a few years ago and every thing they sold was relabeled arc amps and hertz speakers! when i questioned them about it the sales guy walked away. The price for there arc/herts setup was 800.00!!! i called arc and down the line bought the mpak6 from a vendor here for half the price as the j&m stuff. I was actually lucky enough to get there new moto speakers which sounded great!! what other companies or speakers should we stay away from as i am now looking to add rear speaker to my SG?

I bought the amp/speaker set from the most popular company that provides systems for "Hogz" and was surprised at just how little improvement was realized. Now I have a RF amp and some Focal speakers and it kicks the stuffing out of the other setup for about the same money. It's a little more work and isn't "plug and play", but it is definately worth it!
