Default Rockford 6.5" speaker trim

I used the throttle up adapters to install my rockford fosgate power 6.5" fairing speakers but noticed that the tweeter was pushing up against the factory grill and pushing out on my speaker trim that I have installed. Anyone have a fix for this to keep the speaker from pushing up against it?
This is the harley trim I have on thee now

These Hawg Wired grills should give you a bit more room if you like the wire mesh look...

Would I still be able to use the harley trim rings that I have on the grills though I really don't want to get rid of them

Can't say for sure. The front of these grills are flat so it might work, but they also aren't flush with the back of the opening, so it's hard to say what it might look like. Since the trim is made to fit over a flush speaker grill, I'm guessing you'll have to lose them to get the clearance you need for the tweeter.

I'd try some small spacers between the speaker and adapter ring.

Good luck.

I have the chrome trim ring on my Hawg Wired grills. You may have to reapply some 3M double sided tape if you remove them from a prior installation.
