First let me say thanks to all the posters on HDForums for all the excellent information. I just stumbled accross this forum a few weeks ago and I've been reading trying to help me decide if I should buy the SG or a RK. I went into the dealer last week to look at a "used" 05 RK and saw them unloading a new SG. after talking to the dealer I found it was actually a 06 EG Standard they "converted" to a SG and the price was the same as the used RK I was looking at. Needless to say I went with the "Street Glide".I'll post pics once they get it delivered. It's cold here in northern Ohio so I won't be riding anytime soon.

Thanks again for all the great information here. I hope to start contributing as well.

Congrats. Nothing wrong with a converted Street Glide. I'm converting mine to a Ultra Street Glide.

Congrats and welcome to the forums from Michigan! It doesn't matter what your bike started life as, what matters is what it ends up being

 

...almost bought a EGC that a guy had tried to make into a SG...only problem was he advertised it as a SG not a EGC..lots of EGC's have been given the SG look. That's what people used to do to EG's before the MOCO stepped up an copied the look to make the SG. Kinda like the old Softail Custom, the MOCO's response to all the guys putting wideglide front ends and bob fenders on their softails.
Congrats, either way the look is nice, but you know it could really use........
