Before you start chopping wire, why not invest a couple of bucks into the service manual for you bike. It has the harness layouts and schematics (including color code). It will go a long way to keeping you out of trouble. By the way, both brands that I bought didn't require anything more than inserting the modules connectors to existing connectors.
