Default SERT or Power Programmer??

Hello everyone,
I know this has been hashed over time and time again, and I've read
so much now I'm totally confused. I'll just put it out their with my
plan's and see if someone can steer me one way or the other.
I'm taking delivery of a '07 Street Glide today and what I do know
as far as performance, I'm going with stock displacment,Rinehart True duels and a
Screamin' Eagle AC kit with Paul Yaffee's Cover. Bike will probebly be
shown more then riden. I'm looking for a management system which will
make it run good and be more or less user friendly. Any help would be
apprecaited, thx. Rich A

I bought a Thundermax auto tune, a little more at first not by to much though, but after that it will adjust to whatever you put on it, adjusts for alitude, comes with wide range 02 sensor's to replace the limited range ones on your 07 just a better system overallIMHO Not knocking sert's or PC3's but those need dyno work most of the time and that's another expense added to the cost of the sert or PC3, addanother mod another trip to the Dyno. Check with Zipper's ask for Pete They come with a 30 day money back no questions askeddeal, hard to beat.

Damn Gilbos, your sopposed to be making the decision easier for me, not throw in a wrench LOL. I just looked into that system and it sound's great. plus i've never had any problem's in the past with Zipper's product's. It's alittle on the pricey side but I'm really looking for the best possible "plug and play" system out there. Plus, the dealer's deliverering the bike via truck today (raining here in Nor. Cal) to my house and it comes apart before i even get a chance to ride it. Risky I know. So it'll be about two month's before I roll it out of the garage and damn, the last thing I'd want to happen is to bring it back to the dealer all done over. Thank's for your input. Anyone else?? PCIII is your best bet, sert requires dealer instalation and dyno tune to do right. You can get a PCIII from jamie at fuelmoto already set up with a dyno tested map to match youre setup installed for 289.00. Takes about 30 min. tops to install, piece of cake!

LOL....its kinda like a ford or a chevrolet. You can talk about which one is better until the end of time. I personally used a PCIII because of the fact that its easier to use and reprogram if you need to. Filp a coin for the choice. PS....I'm not really a screamin' eagle fan!

Got this from another post. It answers your question very well.

The SERT works best with the 07s. It uses the O2 sensors. Since better than 90% of your riding will be in closed loop with the O2 sensors controlling the fuel management it is a definite plus. Anyone that tells you different does not know EFI tuning or are selling an outdated product that cannot interface with the O2 sensors. Instead of investing in the newest technology they will feed you some line to better their outdated product. SERT is great for the DYI and can be used by anyone who has some basic tuning knowledge. No dealer or dyno required. It is the most flexible and Complete EFI tuning product out there. It can grow as your bike progresses.

The two biggest drawbacks to SERT are. It cost more and it is married to one bike. If you plan on selling you ride in the near future and returning the bike to stock this is something you need to know. Otherwise I would highly recommend it. A good Air Cleaner, Exhaust and a Laptop you can down load a Stage 1 Map in your garage and your good to go. (Since your still using the O2 sensors no need for an exact match). If down the road you sink some serious coin into your motor you can take it to a professional and have it dyno tuned and get the most out of your hard earned cash.

God Bless and ride safe,
