09 and newer wheels on 07 Streetglide
I have a set of PM 18" front, 18" rear judges on my 07 SG. I am considering selling that set up and want to find a set of stocks to run in the meantime. I have found a lot more newer sets for sale locally so the question is will everything work on my 07? I have read that you must change the front bearing to 1". I dont have ABS so no worries there. Is there an issue with the rear wider tire going on the 07 also?

There are several threads on swapping late wheels to earlier models. While the front is possible, the rear tyre won't fit inside your fender and the hub won't fit in your swingarm. It can be done but requires major surgery. I have squeezed a Deuce rear wheel with 160/70 tyre into my bike, but that is not a bolt-in either.

OK here's the rundown. 08 07 06 rear wheels are a 16 inch dia 3 or 3.5 width. The 09 up are 16 inch dia and are like 5 or 6 inches wide. you can mount any of the 08 down wheels on your bike I believe the 08 will require new wheel bearings and a inner spacer. As for fronts the 08 and up have different size bearings and will require a new axle and outer spacers. The 08 is a 16 inch 09 is a 17 inch and the 10 and up are 18 inch. I have put the 18 inch on my 07 ultra so im sure it will fit. I have a 2008 street glide rear wheel in the garage waiting on bearings so I cant say for sure that the 08 with bearing swap will work 100% but according to my part #lookup everything should work fine.

the 09 & up, front wheels will fit a pre 09 bike but you have to adapt either the bearings or the axle. I have an 04 that i am running a 2011, Road glide, 18 inch front wheel with 25 MM bearings but i had to swap to a 25 MM axle and utilize byold brake rotors. If you swap out the calipers to the brembo you could run the 09 up brake rotors.
Now for the rear, without going through major surgery you are limited. I am currently running a 170/60/17 on a 4.5 inch rear wheel but had to swap out the swingarm to the 07 CVO swingarm which is 1) expensive ($600+ ) and 2) 1/2 wider but will fit the 08 down frame and had to change the rear fender to the 07 CVO rear fender which will fit in the frame and is wider.
as to using 09 up rear wheels, search here on the forum. One or two have made them work but it required lots of effort. My exercise in bolting up the 170 was primarily a bolt on affair that only resulted in heavy research as harley had done all the engineering. Adapting an 09 rear wheel puts you in the engineer seat as you will have to do some to make it work for both the swingarm and the rear fender.
That being said, several companies sell a 180 kit that bolts up, using a replacement fender, the narrow 1 inch belt and pulley along with other various hardware that will run an 18 x 5.5 aftermarket rear wheel. Klock werks sells one that seem to be popular. researching here on the forum will net you some results but until you decide what you want and turn the wrench it can look overwhelming.
my 170 looks as wide as the 180 on my 12 CVO and handles just as good. I am happy with it and my net all in cost was less than $500 after i sold my billet aftermarket wheels and tires.
my experience yours will be different

Yup... a repeat of info and some added info below...
2008-newer front wheels have 25mm bearings so you would have to change those and change your spacers for the front since the 25mm bearings are a different width than 1" ones.
and...
2008 rear wheels changed to Cush drive which won't bolt up to your pulley you have.
and...
2009-newer rear wheels changed to the 5.0" width which will be too wide to fit under your fender in addition to having the cush drive that won't bolt up to your pulley.
soo.... yea....
Get 07-back wheels and save yourself!

Hey all,
I have used the search function and from what I can find I only see the 2007 and lower swap for the SG front wheel to an 09 and newer.
What I have is an 08 SG w/o ABS and I just picked up a '12 SG front rim w/ abs, what is needed to make this swap?
Parts:?
Sorry if this has been asked, I would really appreciate any help.
TIA
