Default Changing to Heritage Style Bars on a 2008 RKC

I am planning to change from the stock 2008 Road King handlebars to the "Heritage Style" bars.

Are the "Heritage Style" bars large enough in diameter internally to run all the switch wiring (the Throttle Grip Sensor Wiring harness is already in the right side)?

What is the correct size(s) "Molex Pin Extractor" needed for the job?

Thanks!

Sorry, don't know your answers, and not sure if this site has them either, but it is handy.

I don't think the Harley heritage style bars are made for internal wiring. Even if you drilled for them you would still have the holes for the wire brackets. Khromewerks has some that are 1.25 inch and are made for internal wiring.

Harley reduced reach bars are pretty much the same dimensions. They are one inch, but accept internal wiring. Cheap too. I just put them on my 2010 RK with no problem. Using existing wires. They say you need a new throttle sensor for internal wiring, but I used the same one with no problems as well.

You'll want to purchase the Extended Reach bars. Made to run the wires internal with similar dimensions as the Heritage. I have a set and love them.

Actually the Reduced Reach bar is the one you need. They match the Heritage style but have the cutouts for internal wiring.

Personally, I'd try to find a comparable 1-1/4" bar for the internal wiring/FBW set-up.
I installed a set of Santee 11" Apes last Winter and they used stock cables and wires, and were extremely comfortable!
I believe I only paid ~ $110 shipped to my door! They were so much more comfortable than Heritage bars I had in the past.

I just picked up the heritage bars for my rkc. Dealer said that these bars can have internal wiring but not drilled for it. Any required drilling would be your responsibility. I personally don't care if the wires are hidden but some do. I would suggest bars made for internal wiring. Why hack and whack when there are other options? Friend has internal wired reduced reach bars and they have a nice pull back as well. I went for the hand position on the heritage bars over the RR bars.
