thanks, but I am a mechanic by trade, for a very long time, actually, and while the install would not be a huge job, time wise, the components would be very expensive, and the liability issue on doing it on someone else's bike is astronomical!! it wouldn't even have to fail in a "situation" and lawyers will be all over your butt!!! wouldn't touch that job with a 10 ft pole!! Not even a 6 ft German!!!

Not only that. But if they are actually doing this and they are retrofitting ABS to non-ABS bikes they would have to be using parts from salvaged bikes for that price. Which is opening up another whole can of worms.

I've had a bike with ABS, & gone back to a bike without ABS. I guess I'm a slow learner, but I never saw an advantage to ABS, & didn't learn enough "improper braking" to effect anything....

In fact ABS is only useful (and should only be used) for those "Oh SH_T!" moments. An experienced (and attentive!) rider can stop in less distance without ABS (surprise, surprise!). That said, I have mixed feelings about it, but I would go with it on a new bike purchase-aftermarket, not. Be alert, figure the cagers are out to kill you, watch the weather, and you should be OK either way.

You sound like a guy who hasn't accepted power windows yet because they could chop your fingers off. Instead of taking this "shoot from the hip" approach, why not call her and get all of the facts before making these goofy comments?

First off I don't have a reason to. Already have ABS. You are the one who brought it up in the first place and seem to know about this "service" so why not give us all the details. That way people can make their own judgement.
