Default Anyone running 19" Agitator with stock 16" rear?

I'm looking at a good deal on a 19" agitator but I see when you buy the rear it comes in 18". I have a 09 UG and was wondering if there is any reason I couldn't run a 19" with the 16" rear. My first reaction is there shouldn't be a bit of difference (sidewalls shorter on the 19" tire) but I wanted to see if anyone is running this setup on a Ultra.

Plan is not to change out the rear unless it bugs me too much but I doubt it will.

I don't have that set-up, but if you slap a 19" Agitator on the front and leave the stock 16 in the rear, or change it out to a 16" Agitator, I can't imagine that you would have any issues. There's a heck of a lot more radical setups than that.

HD won't do it at their shops though. They want to go to 18 on the rear for I am sure two reasons....1)to sell you another wheel, rotor, and tire, and 2)to preserve the stock rake.

So this was what I was wondering. I looks like the only tires available for the 19" are 120/70-19 compared to the stock 130/80-17, if you calculate the rim to top of tread height it's about 7/10 of an inch shorter on the 19" so that seems it would make up about 1.4" of the 2" difference.

I'm also wondering if I have found all the tire available for 19"

They make a 130/60/19 now. That's what I have on mine.

I was at one of my local HD dealerships yesterday looking at Agitators and the tire options. We were looking at a 19" front Agitator on a bike they had for sale out front. The parts gal and I read the sidewall and it was a 130. For the life of me I don't know why I didn't ask for the Dunlop model number. She is working me up a price for the 19/18 combo with that tire on the front so once I get more info I will let you know.

She also priced the tire to me at a great price of $139. She said they discount their Dunlops year-round.

Default Agitator

You will be fine with a 19" on the front and stock on the rear. I have done lots of research and plan to do the exact same setup - just looking for the right deal like the other 95%. The Agitator rims don't stay for sale long when posted. House of Harley and Ronnies look to have the best prices and there is one long term posting on Craigslist from KC area that is not bad. Good luck. I am sure you will enjoy it. Ride safe.
