Default 21 inch front wheel question

I like the looks of the 21 inch wheel and a 120x70x21 tire on the Electra Glide. My 87 FLHTC need a facelift. I am aware of the low speed handling issues with this combination, but my rear end has also been lowered one inch...Would the above combinations of lowered rear and 21 inch front create an unstable road personality?

the more you increse your rake... which is what you're doing when you raise the front/lower the rear, the heavier the steering will seem at low speeds. I don't know, mines fine with the 21 front and stock rear, you may find you need to drop the front end to make it handle like you need it to.

Mine was fine with stock front and rear on my 08 SG. Stock SG rear is 1" lower than other FLH's so you should be fine. I now have air ride on the rear and the bike still handles fine with the rear lowered 3" from stock. Low speed steering is a little heavy but I don't even notice it anymore.

Many people lower the front end 1" to compensate for the added height of a 21" wheel. It will raise the bike about 1.25". However this is not a necessity. I'll put a 21" on any bike I have and ride it without lowering prior to decide if it is necessary. Much of this really has to do with the riders inseam as many pope have trouble reaching the ground with the feet prior to adding a 21" wheel.

As far s the stock size rear you will be fine with that. Adding and 18" rear will raise the back about 3/4".

1" Lowered rear, stock front, 21/18, no problems here. Rides dynamite on these Metzelers.
