I run Virtual Box on the Mac, it's just like VMware or parallels but it's free! Oracle wrote it.

Window 8 will work with it also. You have an option to load it up using the 64-bit version, 32-bit is for XP/7. It should all be in the options as you do the setup from the disc. It will walk you through, easy to do.

Hey thanks I downloaded it and seems pretty easy to set up. Now I just need to get an OS installed and I'm good to go. Great forum here saved some money!

Yes,
it just plugs into the serial port when accessing the ECM, otherwise it can set in the office, or tool box.
Some of us just mount them on the bikes for we like to monitor real time activity in the motor.
It has an albeit small, very intuitive touch screen UI so no pc needed.
