Is the TC88 a strong engine?
Hi, I'm gathering information for a future engine rebuild on my03 RKC. My engine has less than 2000 miles on it from new. I want to build a powerful street 95 inch engine out of it. I'm looking for at least 100 hp& 100 torgue. I know what parts I want to use to get these figures, but my question to anyone that really knows these engines is....are they a strong engine to start with. I know they were originally designed as a 95 inch, but was it stressed at this capacity. Are all the crank bearings adequate for a street ripping build.
Thanks for any replies.
Brian.

I agree with BH you might want to put some miles on it and that will give you a definate line of thought on what you might need. It's nice to have 100 hp but if your not riding the bike your throwing the money away. And that's money you probably won't get back if you decide to sell. Just my .02

The crank bearing in the '03 and up bikes is not a strong as the early Twin Cam's bearings. Some experts advise not to go for bignumbers without updating the bearing. Zippers will do that service for those that are interested....
