Thinking about maybe adding a baker seven speed to my limited back in Boston, read the review and sounds like a real well made and thought out transmision. Any one running it and if so what are your thoughts likes and dislikes.

The thing about that many gears people don't understand is, it's not just adding another OD gear. It just spreads the pull through closer ratio gears. It makes it seem as though the engine is more powerful because you can stay in the peak of the torque curve. Only drawback is more shifting.... well, it's only a drawback if you don't switching through the gears and hammerin' on the gas.

One thing to be clear on it the Baker DD7 does not have an overdrive. The stock 6 speed is also not an overdrive transmission. Both stock 6 speed and Baker 7th are both 1:1. Like it was said that the great ratios are optimized for smoothness and power.
If I had the coin I'd do it!
