Generic brake pads on Ebay ???
Anyone ever use the brake pads sold on Ebay for their scooter? It's time for me to replace 3 sets on my 07 Electra Glide Classic - 150.00 from my local HD dealer or 29.97 with free shipping on Ebay. Pricewise it's a no-brainer but are they too good to be true and just a piece of garbage?

I know people that use them and they don't seem to have any problems with them FWIW. Myself, I wouldn't. All kinds of bad things can happen if the pads are not made correctly. Disk wear, grabbing when hot, heat transfer to the calipers, or even disk warping. I don't trust my life and my wife to something with no name brand on it. I have used other brake pads by well known manufactures without a problem, but they are not cheap either.

right. 43.95 x 3 = 150.... or close enough to call it that. there are some sellers on ebay selling them for 10 a pair, coming up with the 30.00 in the op.

I sell on Ebay 24/7 & I read warnings about counterfit parts being sold for autos & bikes. One I recall was that some brake pads contained cardboard & sawdust & basically didnt work or fell apart quickly. But, not all low priced parts are counterfeit.
Some sellers on Ebay buy directly from the manufacturer so they can sell them far less than going thru a retailer. Send them an email & ask who the manufacturer is.
Drag Spec & EBC sells pads for around $25.00 retail per caliper.
Personally, I wouldn't trust my life to an unknown brand name just to save some money.

Sure a name brand vendor selling on ebay will be OK and I like to save more then anyone but after checking and researching and going on my previous 30K of Harley's little dusty and fast wearing but stopping like no tomorrow pads (been thru 3 sets since if I tear something down for something I just throw a new set on). I would be scared to death of a KNOCK OFF NO NAME CLONE that may be glued on with Elmer's. Ebay feed back is usual got it, looks like a brake pad but totally worthless unless the guy checks back in in a year and says he is still breathing

The ones from that Carolina guy have some very good feedback, and his comments about using them himself on is bike caught my attention. I did order a set, and have installed them, but haven't ridden on them yet. They look superb. Very well machines and adhered. No goo of glue, nothing misaligned. They look far better than most popular named aftermarket brake pads or shoes look. Pedal and lever feel with them are fine. But I haven't rolled down the road either.
I don't disagree that generally I'd rather have a good name. But I've had plenty of popular named products fail on me in service. That includes brake components with names like Bendex, Porterfield, Raybestos, Ferrodo, etc. None are immune.
