Default She's going under the Knife!!!! Operation 117"

I blew a head gasket and figured that sence I have to top end off might as well go a bit further and split the cases and completely lose my FRICKEN MIND!! First off getting my 4 3/8 crank welded/trued and all that jazz. Next I got a fresh set of S&S cylinders/pistons. It's there 117 Cylinder Kit w/ 92-1550 Pistons w/10.2:1 compression. I'm keeping my Tman 590 cam and using my current heads that have been ported and polished to1.900" intake, 1.615 exhaust. I'll run this untill I can afford some 110" heads and new cams. I have got a SE 58mm throttle body and SE high flow injector. On the fence with roller rockers...Lot of guys I know with big inch motors don't use em so I'm not sure if I'm going to spend another 500 bucks for nothin. I have got the whole 'fueling' brand set up cam plate, lifters and high flow oil pump. Figure I need to address the clutch I have the SE spring kit now and perhaps the air cleaner but, I might just keep my SE AC. I'm running a thunderheader and plan on keeping that loud mother. Well I'll keep you guys posted. This should make the old 107' look like a sporty... Should be all over the 130's in tq and hp I hope. What do you guys think....

Eddie

dude you kick ***. "****, I blew a $25 head gasket...**** it, i'm splitting the cases" lol

let us know how it goes. 130 ft/lbs should be a given, considering my 555s in a 106 get me 126 ft/lbs.

LOL....... I guess I was lookin for an excuse to do it and this seemed to make it ok in my head. She was a 107 before I started this making 122tq and 113 hp so when I say 130's I'm talking 139/139. All this **** started because my budy went to a 113" and literally left me in dust like a lost puppy. Yep ego kicked in. LOL atleast I can admit it..

Good luck on your build! I did one last year and the results were great. I went with roller rockers and my valve train is quiet as can be. Bought a set of take off 110 heads and sent them to Dan Vance Racing to be tricked out. You WILL need more clutch for sure. Have fun!!

Im in the same boat, just had a lifter failure and it scared the cases, so when my new case comes im going S&S 117, Im thinking of sending them my stock head and letting them port and match it to the piston/cylinder kit... my big concern and you and others can chime in, is the crank and upgraded lifters, so do i keep the stock crank or go s&S with that as well, and who really has better than stock lifters, I hear a lot about Jims, but im not sure which way to go....

If your this far into save your self time money and the hassle of a possable future failure and upgrade the crank.

You don't need rollers with that 590 cam.

For sure you should do the crank. I'm just getting my stock one trued and welded. Nothing wrong with using the HD crank as long as you doctor it up. As far as lifter I went witht the fueling brand set up..There kit has a High flow oil pump, lifters and a cam plate. 620 bucks on amazon...
