I suppose another leason for all of us is making sure all parts added compliment one another. Its not that you can't mix and match, but, one thing I haqve noticed with Fuel Moto packages is that the most succes and satisfaction is when a complete package is installed.

Glad to hear you got thinkgs worked out. Even happier to hear the satisfaction you have with Fuel Moto as I hope to get their 98 kit for my 02 sometime soon.

Default Noisy FM 107

I had my 2009 Roadglide built with a FM 107 kit. It had the optional FM Head also. It has run very good since, but has always had tapping/ knocking sound. In my case, it stops completely between ~2k-3k RPM but is very noticable before and after. It is more of a loud tapping sound on short rides, but when I ride it long enough to get good and hot it gets very loud.. more of a knocking sound. I have had it worked on many times.. multiple sets of new lifters, push rods, dyno tuned, exhaust gaskets etc etc. and I even finally had it torn down and completely rebuilt...with the exact same result. At this point, I have just decided to "ride it like I stole it" as I am not spending another dime on chasing it.....Like I said, performance wise, it runs exceptionally well and has not posed any other problems other than the noise.

Default Noise after install

Hey. New here.
Just did an S&S 106 big bore. New lifters and 583ce cams. 2008 96ci bike runs great. Still in break in period. Slight tick or knock in front cylinder but back is very quite. Heads were taken in to a machine shop as well and redone. Any thoughts?

I chased this exact same problem with my build...finally found out that one of the new S&S lifters I installed was not going to work with my heads and valve springs. Replaced them with new SE lifters and problem solved.

Yeah. I hear it and my mechanic says it’s “normal” my ocd says no way. Lol. I put the SE heavy breather on and now I hear my throttle body flapping and that’s bad enough. Maybe I’ll try switching out the lifters again. Cams by spec are bolt in. Same lift so nothing changed there. The heads are stock specs just new valves and seals in them. If both cylinders sounded like the back I think I would have the quietest bike out there. Lol. I put rocker lockers in thinking I would have no noise at all. Think again!!

just narrowed mine right down. Took the heavy breather cone off. Zero noise from cams lifters pistons or rockers. I used my Stethoscope and couldn’t hear anything in any of those locations. Then went over the throttle body (didn’t even need the stethoscope) that’s where it’s ticking. And there is a magnified low sounding kinda noise when the cone is on. So weird.
