Um, I think it's "calling shenanigans." smells better anyway.

Call it what you want. I looking at the letter now. I was mistaken in my haste when I said it was from the DOT. The letter came from Tegol, Inc. 955 Venice Blvd. Los Angeles, Ca. I don't know if they are the distributor or manufacturer but on the letterhead it states SAFETY RECALL NOTICE NHTSA Recall Number-12E-051. Sorry,my bad.

I'll be saving them some money & hassle, I'll be keeping all three of mine....!

Keeping mine as well. I don't think you'll run across a cop that actually knows helmets and gives you grief cause the outlaw has the DOT on the back but knows there's a recall. Better chance of winning the lotto I think. Sure it "could" happen, but what are the chances? Here's what it looks like on my dome. I ride in Ill where there's no law at all, but I needed one for Tenn. where this pic was taken.

I've been trying to get one of these since last summer. Can you still get one, regardless of the dumb DOT rating. I could care less..

I really like the way they look but like a half helmet, they don't look like they'd protect much, if at all.

Here's a picture of my so called affected recalled helmet, Outlaw AX30030,
take a close look at the straps and then compare it to the outlaw helmets pictured on Leatherup.com, could that be a factor in the recall I wonder?
