Intercom Headsets

I use the HD set that came with my bike. It works great for me. Like others have said, you can buy the "pockets" that attach to the straps on your 1/2 helmets and put the headset speakers in them.
One very important recommendation. I use those disposable foam earplugs especially when I'm using the headset. They greatly dampen the wind noise and other loud noise but don't affect the headset sound. It must be because the headset speakers are so close to your ears. Makes hearing the headset a ton easier at lower volume than you otherwise need. I know it sounds counterproductive, but try it. I can ride for hours using a set of foam earplugs listening to the radio on the HD headset and when I get off, no ringing or hearing problems. It's like I didn't even ride.

the IMC moto and the HD model look exactly the same, except the price, IMc is $40 cheaper, go figure. I think I am going to try the IMC with the speakers in the pouch on the chin straps. The only time we will use them is on long trips, i can keep them on the helmet all the time. Thanks guys

Installation
OK all with the stock touring headset. I'm trying to figure out how to install the system on my half helmet. No instructions. I know its probably easy but where do I put the boom mic? I slid the plastic pieces into the helmet they seem to be holding. Find it hard to believe that just the friction between the shell and liner are going to keep things in place. Ok so I'd appreciate some help on this.
Oh I'm a directions guy since I started building Jet Engines for GE

Thanks for the input guys. Has anyone tried the IMC motorcom? That product looks and is priced at what I had in mind. The one that has pockets for the speakers might be a little warm in august but I like the way it is contained in the helmet, the $80 model can be used with or without a helmet. Thanks again

I started on the worlds largest the GE90 115B, 115,000 lbs of thrust. I have worked on the GEnx, and the GEnx 1B. Now I'm working on the GP7200 that goes on the Airbus A380. Oh yeah I love my job. It made a Harley possible.
So if you know their is a 1B do you know what they both go on??
