yes it does require more tear down, but if you are doing the work yourself that is free( its really not much more work, gas tank off-remove rocker covers -loosen rockers-slip out push rods-reverse), and as far as more gaskets, the gaskets in the rockercovers are rubber or ring type that I have found to be reusable like the gasket under the derby cover....So the only real cost is time...and you get a potentially more dependable motor...
This is what my service tech did for me. We kept the stock push rods and upgraded the lifters. I just picked it up yesterday. 2013 FLCTK 103,Rinehart xtreme true duels,Roland sands AC,Fueling 525 cams TTS mastertune and Dyno. 89.5HP and 102.5 Torque. Nice flat curve that pulls from 2000rpm to redline.
