I just replaced my Sylvania for the second time, looks like it continues to fail due to vibration.

This time I went with the PIAA Super White H4 80W/80W in the head light and the Super White 55W H3 in my driving lights. What a difference in the light output. Very, very bright white light. Blows the Silverstar away!

The PIAA is is a direct replacement motorcycle bulb and is designed for the vibration on a bike, has the same amp draw as a stock light and runs cooler, but puts out a lot more light. It's real close to HID lights.

Check it out>>> http://www.jpcycles.com/productgroup.aspx?GID=83384A80-EEF4-4C71-97CE-2FD46EB0899F&search=H4%20bulbs&store=All&a mp;page=1

Same here, second time in about 18 months. Glad I kept the stock bulb to put back in. I had the stock one in the Silverstar package which read "Motorcycle" so I know I had what was supposed to be the right one. Sure is a big difference between the Silverstar and the stock bulb when you hit the high beam. Maybe I'll look around and try something different next time.

Not trying to start a argument but go with the Osram bulbs from Germany. Yes I know Sylvania owns them but it's a different, better bulb, just think Autobahn. Now if you really want to throw out some bright beams go with the Candle power bulbs, they'll burn the cagers retinas out.
Edit: I have the Candle Power German Rally Bulbs waiting to in to the fairing,#380-887 80 watt low beam 100 watt high beam. And yes i do know that they are not street legal. Link here. http://www.jpcycles.com/productgroup...ley&page=1

I had the ultras. They were bright but didn't last long. I went to the next grade down and so far so good.

If all you ran was the Silverstar Bulbs since this thread started, you would have went thru at least 30 bulbs per bike by now!
They still don't last long, even says so on the box.

They get sooo hot, another plus for LEDs.

Go to Candlepower Inc or Daniel Stern lighting and get the bulb they advise. There is a real difference in a quality bulb and the amount of FOCUSED light it puts out on the road.

If you actually ride in the dark on purpose or just want the most useful lighting go LED.

I am a self confessed lighting junkie and have tried quite a lot of bulbs over the years.
