02 FLHTCUI. Noticed a small gas leak around the little rubber o-ring on my quick-connect fuel supply line fitting. Pulled it off under pressure, yes,gas when't all over. Wrong way to do it. Now i cannot get it back on.It will not click back into quick-connect check valve supply fitting.Yes, i am pushing up on the chrome sleeve as i try to push up on the supply line. Close, but not going up and in all the way. What am i doing wrong?
I've had that problem before, I don't know that you are doing anything wrong. Just keep moving it around and pushing on it until it goes into place, then pull down on the sleeve and make sure it is down all the way. Usually they go right on, but not always, you just have to work it until it does.
Not knowing who's disconnect you have but... the one I have has a check valve inside that stops the flow of gas when disconnected. Thats the reason I bought it. Its possible your check valve/spring has broken and wont allow a re-connect to happen. Generally Id suggest buying a new one.
Ok... then that means the cold in Tahoe has gotten to it & made the o-ring hard.
Lube the o-ring, get a hair dryer & warm up the o-ring & connection.
It should snap together after being heated....
