The boom or hog tunes will sound much better than the J&Ms I know from experience and wasted money later I am giving the Fosgate stuff a try I should have known to go with a company that has stood the test of time.

anyone find a 2 ohm 6.5" lower speaker to fit in the CVO boxes? I can't find any....and the CVO speakers are 1 ohm and don't work with the Boom Audio 2ohm stable amp.

Just go to crutchfield.com and use the criteria for speakers to select size and ohm.

[QUOTE=nivensid;10717502]I had the Hogtunes system with their amp, sounded good but I wanted better. I now have the Focals 6.5 speakers in the fairing and in the CVO lowers also, pushing them is the PBR amp. I had the gain set to 7 for the fairing speakers with the gain set to 2 for the lowers all summer long and thought the lowers were not that noticeable. Today I had the fairing off to install the HD LED front turn signals and that is when I saw I had the gain set too low for the lowers. I turned it up to match the fairing speakers and man!!!! what a big improvement, now the lowers have come to life and sound awesome.

Similar to my set up. I heard the J&M's and the Booms at Bike Rally's and for the money I was not impressed at all. I went with the Focal CVX 6.5" in the fairing and in the Lower fairings. The CVX line has crossovers built in the magnet which saves you space with others having external crossovers. I'm running the 4 fronts on a JL Audio XD400/4 amp inside my fairing (Slight mods needed to fit it in the fairing). Running Polk Audio Marine grade 6X9's in the bag lids with a separate JL Audio XD200/2 amp in my bag which don't take much space. For the money it blows away any of the CVO bikes with Boom audio.

I have the CA165s in my lowers and the VB 165 componants in the batwing(tweeters in the upper gauge holes) and I could not be happier! I can't imagine a fuller sound without going to speakers in your bags.

These: There are better models/speakers out there for more money... however since these were not marine grade I wanted to keep the cost down for the first time around in case they didn't hold up.
