Looking for 09 up touring swingarm for wide tire conversion.

I never studied what it would take to adapt an '09 swingarm to an earlier frame in order to get a wider tire mounted but thought about it a bit.
I decided to widen my stock swingarm instead. Read about it here:https://www.hdforums.com/forum/touri...-a-how-to.html
It was a lot cheaper than sourcing another swingarm would be, I think.
Edit: After seeing your signature line, I can see you will be taking a different route than I did. In the thread I linked there is a post by JohnCA58 who went wider and also converted to a chain drive and did an awesome job. He might be a good guy to talk with. Good Luck!

'02 to '08 swingarms all have an inside measurement of 9 5/8" at the axle so if you get a 1" axle for cheap along with a swingarm, you can turn it down on the lathe to 25mm if you have access to one, then cut the appropriate width spacers that will enable it all to fit. The wheel must be reasonably centered within the frame, the rotor must be centered in the caliper and then you have to ensure you have adequate clearances for the drive pulley or sprocket, depending on what drive system you are going with. Swingarm length will also have to be considered. It can be a balancing act for sure. Post lots of pics, it sounds like an interesting project. Good luck.
