Painted inner fairing swap - ebay
I'm really excited about changing my inner fairing. I've read many threads on it, watched some you tube stuff, as well as studying my service manual.
With that being said the search is on. Buy direct from HD and pay all the money for a perfectly matched OEM fairing? I also contacted a local painter and I'm still waiting for a call back. Research I did here on the forum is 50/50. Some guys say the local painter route, others say OEM.
I did find this on ebay....

Has anyone ever used this vendor?
Thanks!

I went with a factory job for a couple or reasons. 1. No Down time between removing the fairing and getting it back from the painter. 2. No chance of the color not matching exactly. Even a little off on some colors would not be good. Plus no flaws in the paint that sometimes happens. If this happens with a painter your down time is extended while corrections are made. From the factory, if it is not ok, just send it back and keep riding until a new one comes in. Then when you get just what you want and get it back on, sell your original and defray some of the cost.
As for the E-Bay site you posted, this guy lives about 30 miles from me, and from what I've heard, he is a good painter. He is a manager at Durango, Co. HD. Any dealings that I've had with him lead me to believe he is honest, above board, and a really nice guy. Give Spence a call and see what he thinks.
I was going to have him do mine originally, but went with factory for the above reasons. My color is Ember Red Sunglo which is two stages and a little complicated to do. I would be more willing to let a painter do something that had less chance of not matching.
