Default Rear Brake Pedal

I'm changing out the stock brake pedal for an extended one that won't trap my foot. Got the old one off OK and the new one looks to be able to go on OK, but how do you get the pedal pad off the old one?

Start by spraying some wd40 in it (the pad), then use a thin blade screwdriver or a butterknife to work it off. See the two notches, one on each side, of the new pedal? The pad has rubber bumpers that fit in those. That's what's making it difficult to remove.

Thanks for the replies. Yeah Bug, I was thinking about reusing it. Wesd, I'll give the WD-40 a try tomorrow, if it don't work right off I'll wait 'till 2 Wheelers opens Monday and get me one of the chrome & rubber ones. I guess that means I'll need the matching chrome and rubber foot board inserts too, and matching shifter pegs.
