Got this part as one of my Xmas gifts. headlight visor trim. Anyone else running one? Fit seems kinda crappy or is it just me? I followed the directions and installed over the stock trim ring. There are gaps between headlight and new trim and also where it tightens at the bottom it just dont look right.

 

Mine had a gap too.

 

Mines doesn't fit perfect. Looks like sh*it if you examine it. Looks good on bike tho. Small gap where the bolt is. Uneven gap around between visor and headlight glass. I can live with it tho.

 

Yeah it looks nice on the bike for sure. When you look close it looks like a 5 year old designed it lol. Glad to know I am not the only one that notices small details.

 

 

Ya, crappy design, I ended up removing the stock bezel and taking a vise grips to bend the tabs on the headlamp bucket so they would hold it in place. Then installed new visor without the ring. Looks good now. Some guys have been able to loosen the headlamp bucket so the visor will slip in behind but that didn't work for mine.

 

Do a search, many threads on this. The long and short is remove the OEM ring place a few washers behind the bucket or bend some tabs. You'll fix the gap at the bottom but inside around the light. Not so much.

 

While 131Tman didn't comment, his photos seem to indicate that you can install it so it looks good. Nice looking bike Tman.

 

Consider that he's not using the oem headlight. Looks like a truck light style. Previous posts indicate that makes a difference.

 

Mine fits fairly well with no gap where the screw is, there is however a gap between the ring and headlight, and I still have the OEM trim ring in place....Funny how it works for some but not others, kinda makes you wonder about the machining process or the operator who is running the machine that makes these trim rings!
