Good idea guys. thanks. I might have some of 1/8" non slip matting stuff laying around. Think I will give that a try.

Mine fit bad with the OEM light but fits perfect with the Trucklite I installed.

I went with the visor rings on all the front end lights. Install was a PITA, but happy with the Trucklites and the visors!

I had a hard time getting the gap from mine when I installed it. I had to play around with it a bunch to get the gap almost gone. I got it to about .025" or so. I didn't try loosening the stock ring first though...maybe I'll give it a try this weekend. It does seem like a pretty crappy design. Btw, I have the Trucklite Phase 7 installed with the HD Visor Trim ring.

I don't really notice the gap unless I read a thread about it on the forums...

I bought one of these during a Christmas sale. The sale and the combined $15 off coupon from HD made the final cost about $18. I hope that will make the PITA installation and eventual gap suck a little less.

I gave up trying to fix the Letterman Gap a long time ago. No one notices, or are just polite and don't say anything about it.

Been trying to close the gap on mine since last May 2012 a few times. Still no luck. With the tips here I may have a go at it again soon?

During the initial install of my visor HL trim I had the gap, but after dissecting through the parts & re-reading the "greek" instructions, I got it on w/no gap. Like others state; the "trick" is to get the OEM ring loose & wrap the visor ring behind it. Then tighten the OEM ring & cinch-up the outer visor...works every time (had mine on/off a few times). Cheers!

Installation took about 10 mins for me. There is a small gap, guess I don't see it as a big deal like some other.

I got rid of the POS phillips head bolt as well and went with an allen head bolt. Much easier to tighten up without a screwdriver slipping.
