Put a set of hd's on mine a couple months ago, gonna pull them back off to color match them & add the chrome trim. Haven't rode in the high temps yet, but even if they dont do much ,they fill that ugly void & give the bike a little more style.

They definitely help. I have HD so they are color matched to my black denim already

I installed the stock HD ones. Very easy to do and like 66don66 says, they fill the ugly void behind the motor. I can't really notice any heat reduction, but that's not why I bought them.

Yup - did that with my Ultra, gave the ones that came on it to a buddy with a Classic.

Crotch Coolers work great, and look good too!

Default heat deflectors

I guess I'm in the minority here as I bought the HD version for my 09 RG and didn't like them at all. IMO they took the heat off my legs and "deflected it" into my face. Louisiana heat is brutal in the summer so I chose to sell mine.

Another fan of the Captain Itch Crotch Cooler. You would be hard pressed to find better quality.

Hey Larry, you need to start paying me for endorsements. LOL!!!!

RJ's Originals here, excellent.
Easy install, effective, jeweled studs match the fizz in the Root Beer.
Forum sponsor, made in USA by Vets.
I don't see how the plastic jive types will hold up to heat and time...
