Put a set of hd's on mine a couple months ago, gonna pull them back off to color match them & add the chrome trim. Haven't rode in the high temps yet, but even if they dont do much ,they fill that ugly void & give the bike a little more style.
I installed the stock HD ones. Very easy to do and like 66don66 says, they fill the ugly void behind the motor. I can't really notice any heat reduction, but that's not why I bought them.
Check out our crotch coolers, very easy to install,Pretty much just remove your seat.. They can be customized with studs,Tooled or plain. They do work very well, that I will promise you. http://shop.captain-itch.com/Crotch-...671460_c36.htm
I will say this also, I have a buddy with your coolers and they look nice and work good.

Yup - did that with my Ultra, gave the ones that came on it to a buddy with a Classic.
I guess I'm in the minority here as I bought the HD version for my 09 RG and didn't like them at all. IMO they took the heat off my legs and "deflected it" into my face. Louisiana heat is brutal in the summer so I chose to sell mine.
RJ's Originals here, excellent.
Easy install, effective, jeweled studs match the fizz in the Root Beer.

I don't see how the plastic jive types will hold up to heat and time...
