I have a 07 FLHTC I have already have the dealer do my 1000 mile service. Do I have to take it to the dealer to keep up the warranty up. I have the tools and the ablity to service my bike I just dont want to loose the warranty It was the only reason I bought a brand new bike

As long as you document that the service was done and keep your receits you should be ok.

I have done all my service since day one and had no issues with the two warranty items I had to have fixed.

Probably depends on the dealer.

You will be much happier doing the work yourself. I know I am always disappointed whenever someone else has touched one of by bikes. [:@]

Most dealerships will sign off on your receipt if you buy all the needed parts/lube from them. If you order it online or get it from another source, just be sure to keep receipts showing gaskets, oil and amounts. That way you can at least prove you bought the needed materials.

You should not have a problem.

There should be a place to documentall services int he owners manual. Your dealership may be nice enough to print out what is involved in each service. Manual may have that info to. When you do the service, sign the manual to verify it was completed. Keep all receipts like has been said before. You should be fine.

The Dealer I bought my Street Glide from Said I had to bring the bike back into them for the warrantee to be valid.
That sounds like BS to me. I believe there just looking to make more money off me. I bought a service manual and plan on doing my own maintainance. I'm going to ask the salesperson I bought the bike from also and see what he says.

Just document when you do your services. The warranty laws say if you have to take it in for service by law they must do the service for free. As long as you can show documentation you will be fine doing you own service.
