Default Exhaust Options/Recommendations?

I've read a lot here and spoke to friends with touring models and am looking at the Fuel Moto Jackpot 4" Mufflers as a stage 1 for my 2013 Road King. I know everyone likes different things. My situation is that I live in a very nice neighborhood at the end of a cul de sac and don't want obnoxiously load pipes but like the powerful gurgle. Something that has a nice sound and is a performance improvement but not too load.

Is this a good option? What others should I look at knowing what I am looking for. Is it an easy mod since I will have to do this myself as opposed to a deal stage 1? Friends have Bassani but they seem loud to me. I like the dual look also. Thoughts?

+1, I have to agree. What's loud to you may not be loud to somebody else. Also even with all the clips on You Tube, you still won't get the true sound until you here the exhaust on a bike with your same specs.

Just send your stock pipes into American Custom and have them fitted with the mid range baffle. You can modify the baffle if you want it a bit more rumble.

That's a big part of what I like about the MGS True Duals I put on my '13 Street Glide - unless I get on the throttle hard they're not too loud. But they perform very well, look good, and they can be loud when you want them to.

On one of the multitude of threads on here a out pipes I had posted a video of mine.

Forget You Tube, it's difficult to get a perspective of an exhaust sound clip from your computer.

And as the other posters have mentioned everybody will have a comment. But consider my set up. V&H dresser duals with V&H monster ovals. Nice low gurgle and come to life when you rip the throttle.

Install is very straight forward. Get a service manual.

I was in the same situation as you when I went to buy pipes for my 2013 RG. The 4" Jackpot pipes was what I purchased after much research and I am really happy with them. Not too loud until you get on the gas. Neighbor friendly- barely. Not loud enough to get upset about.

I did the FM Stage 1. I love my 4" FM's . I live in a nice gated community . I like my neighbors and want them to continue liking me. I feel I could leave a 5:00 Am and stay on their good side if I stay out of the throttle . If I want to let them know I'm back at a decent hour it talks well enough for that to. If you had an erector set, can read instructions you can do the slip ons and AC. I did an 09' so did not have to deal with the Cat. That is your challenge.
