So I'm wondering just how good are these new 222 woods cams?? I have 12 street glide with DD boss cat, thunder max and zippers air cleaner! Bike goes pretty well but I need some more power! Enjoy the highway and open roads.Spend lots of time in the White mountains! I just got rid of a zippers 120 Road Glide that was pulling 132 horse and 132 foot pounds of torque. After some thought I figured it was time to slow it down a little. The 103 goes well for me but...... I need some more. Im hoping a cam change will do it for me. A cam lifters and pushrods will cost me 12 to 15 hundred.. a 107 kit with decent heads will run me about 3000 to 3500 . Posted dyno sheets on this site and others show anywhere from 92 to 99 horse and up to 114 115 in torque for this cam.Does it run out of steam quickly??? Seems to come on early enough which is very cool but a good 107 Tman Fuel moto etc will only run anywhere from 108 to 115 or maybe 118 horse and 115 to 123 foot pounds of torque. These are posted sheets and obviously best case runs.. Is the extra 2000 in cash worth it ???? Ive had all the power in the 120, just looking to be able to pass and run the highway without running out of steam at 100mph.....so any real reviews on this cam by anyone who runs there bike a little hard... Spoke with Bob Wood in june and he suggested the 777 ....question is will I be too soft on the bottom end with this ?????? Meaning less than I have now ??? thoughts ??

I went with SE255s, Jackpot head pipe, monster ovals and PV in my 2012 Ultra. I was looking for a boost in TQ for 2 up riding and wanting to be able to pass without having to constantly downshift. Was also looking to get the bike to run cooler and get rid of the dreaded ping. Well I did get better HP and TQ but it did seem to run out of steam at about 4500. But the real story was it still ran hot, hard to start when it was hot and nothing that I did got rid of the pinging.
I talked to Jamie at FM and he suggested the TW222 after I described the type of riding I do. He also flashed my PV with a tune for my setup and I installed the TW222s. Night and day difference, heat gone, pinging gone, hot starting no issue and the seat of the pants dyno told me there was a whole lot of difference in HP and TQ. Roll on the throttle at 70 in 6th was a huge improvement over the SE255s.
Your particular riding style will dictate the cams best suited for that riding style. If you like to get on it and get better stop light to stop light then the TW777 might be a better choice.
My advice, nail down how you will ride most of the time and talk to the folks at FM and they will provide you all the advice you will need regarding cam choices. You will also get all kinds of good info on this thread from those that have been there, done that.
Curious about where you got those prices for a cam install, that sounds pretty steep to me. That said, I did my own. If you are any kind of handy with a wrench, purchase a few of the specialty tools you would need to do the install, and do some research you will save yourself a ton of cash. There is great instructional video on the S&S site on a twin cam install that was very useful.

Your prices are high unless you are paying someone to do the install. I just today received my TW222 cams, pushrods, lifters, and gasket kit from Fuel Moto and with shipping it came under $760.
Replacing my SE 255 cams due to the heat they produce. Jamie told me that I will pick up some power as well. Going from a 120 you will not be impressed with only a cam change.
Living in MN I will not know how these perform until spring.

The SE204 may pull harder beyond 5000 rpms but the 222s TQ comes on sooner than the 204s. Not sure about you, but most of my riding, and I suspect most of us with touring bikes, is in the 2500-3500 range, where the 222 shines. Thinking about it, I don't believe that I have taken mine to 5000 rpms. Not my style of riding.

I chose 204's after reading countless info on these threads. I'm glad I did for sure and they do what I want (plus I've never rode a bike with other cams so I can't compare). In my unmechanical opinion, they do run out of steam and that's obvious, I can't see how anybody would say different. They pull like crazy up the freeway on-ramps, then when you continue along in the fast lane wide open it's not long your bike suddenly feels 500 pounds heavier. I can't imagine the 222's falling off sooner, that would put them in the 255 category.
