fading paint on innner fairing...
I noticed the black piant is fading a little on the ends of the inner fairing above the speakers on my 09 ultra. I really don't want to go through the hassel or the cost of taking the fairing off and repainting it. The outer fairing is going to be off for another winter project anyway. Is there a fool proof way to touch up this area without it being obvious?
Any advise would be appreciated. Thanx, mike

When you take the outer fairing off, get some paper (newspaper or paint masking paper) and cover your fender and mirrors and anything in the direct path of a can of spray paint.
Go to your parts store and get a spray can of Duplicolor bumper black. Just lightly mist it on the faded parts till they are completely covered.. It is a good color match and blends well with the OEM paint.
I did this on my EG Classic. You couldn't tell it had been touched up and still looked good a year later when I sold it.

I tried Cycle Care vinyl and leather conditioner on mine, just for grins, wasn't expecting much. It came back like new. A day later it soaked in so I put another coat on the whole fairing, that was 3 months ago and haven't touched it, looks great. Gives me more time to plan the inner fairing paint.
