I'm installing a Kenwood KIV-BT901 head unit for a friend into a 2010 Street Glide using the Biketronics BT1005 kit. The unit has a steering wheel input but is a wire instead of the 3.5mm jack input hole. Says steering wheel compatible online so I figured it had the hole in the back of the headunit. Instead it has an AUX hole on the back of the unit. Can i splice this steering wheel input wire to the Biketronics jack? I'm confused. Here's the wire
I'd say give Biketronics a call in the morning. I had one of their units on a bike and found these guys to be very helpful on the installation. They're in Moscow, Idaho, Pacific time zone.

Yeah i'm calling them when I wake up. Just wanted to see if anybody encountered this before.
a lot of stereos only use one wire for the remote, the resistance or voltage coming through the wire determines the function it is controlling. wish i could help better. i have a kenwood in my bike, couldn't figure it out. the bar controls have always been for decoration for me.
Just read the fine print. Instead of the 3.5mm jack. There's a Biketronics blue/white wire that hooks to the Kenwood blue/white wire. Those are used instead of the jack. I overlooked that section of the instructions lol.

Beat me to it. I'm running a kenwood unit with the biketronics kit. Works fine!
