Default Wiring the powered radio antenna?

I picked up a powered radio antenna to get rid of the booger grabber that attaches to the back of the bike. I am going to put it inside my fairing and I need to know for those that have done it what wire is the best to splice into? Should I wire it to the accessory switch or is there a power wire from the radiothat I should tap into?

Mine is wired to the cigarette lighter. I can't say this is the "best" but it works and there is no danger of overloading the circuit and it was easy to find.

My bike has an unused connector on the Accy circuit that I used for my GPS. There is a ground also unused. From the service manual, these are used in the HDI models for a small bulb in the headlamp but are unused on the domestic models. They use standard spade lugs so I just plugged into them and covered with some heat shrink.

Look at the wire bundle going to your headlamp.

I was able to find an unused hot wire in the headlight bundlethat had a red rubber plug over it. I don't know what it was designed for but it worked out perfect. The hidden antenna is too cool now the wife won't kick it ever time she gets on or off. $20.00 can't beat it.

That's the one. There should also be a black wire with it that is a good ground. Same spade lug type.

That's the one I used. Worked great. Had some extra shrink tubing so I connected it and it switches on with thebike.

Here is some excellent information and shows the picture of the one I installed. Great inexpensive mod to get rid of that ugly anttuner!
