I rode up to Thanksgiving and then put them away. Once it snows theres so much salt that I caught deer licking my truck one morning.....

Bikes are in the garage under cover

Smile Yesterday I rode!!

Needed some drive time. 35 degrees overcast but dry. No electric clothes, gloves, grips or seat. Only put on an extra layer underneath. Two lane black top here in Italy. Didn't ride very long or very far but I rode.

So glad I did too. Today is 33 degrees and raining all day, with the rest of the weekend expected to be the same, the worst posssible weather.

20 outside and I rode my bike to work. If it is dry out during freezing temps, I ride. People at work think I am crazy.

Just put mine into storage yesterday. Sniff. The garage looks empty without her. But the freezing rain will be here soon, I'm thinking. C'mon Spring!!

Interesting find at my local H-D dealer: S100 Corrosion Protectant. Specifically mentions road salt and sea air protection. FWIW.
Appreciate everyone's input on my salt question. Thanks.

I just got mine about 3 weeks ago. Just rode it home from the dealer today after getting lowers put on. It'll be covered with bed sheets in the garage with tender. It's driving me nuts not riding a new bike. Not into the cold weather riding. Is it April yet????

Been parked since October, it's all about the road salt. Just not worth it. For $40 a month I rent a storage unit a half mile from the house. 3 sportbikes and 3 HD's all up on lifts, covered, batteries out, tanks full of treated fuel, plus a buncha extra parts all crammed in a 10x20. I like to keep the trailer free in case anything big needs hauling in the winter. The garage stays open for the vehicles and winter projects. Besides, it's hard to run a snowblower around 2 parked cars. Being 100 mi north of Green Bay, that can happen quite regularly. The back garage gets redone in the spring and bye bye storage unit.

Just got in my January ride, made it to 46 and that is supposed to be the warmest its going to get.
Im sure there are more dedicated riders than I but im proud of my having only missed one months ride last December in the past 3 years, granted my qualification of a ride is 30 minutes or more. We live in Northern Illinois so im all good with global warming! Stay safe out there

Edit. Sorry I didn't realize such an old post, simply looked for a cold weather title! Cheers!
