Default 2013 Street Glide exhaust

Just picked up my 2013 FLHX and would like to ask about the exhaust. The baffles look to be crimped on the end closest to the engine by a 4 finger (crimper) devise from the factory. has anyone drove a drift pin into this crimping to open up the baffle and what were the results? Did it increase the sound and was the sound much louder? It looks like you can start with a drift pin and increase the size up to maybe an 1" or 1 and 1/4" dia. which would be the same as the baffle itself. Looks like you could do it with the exhaust still installed on the bike?

Short of removing the baffle i doubt you are going to change the sound much. And i 'm sure it would sould like **** if you did remove the baffle. Just open your wallet and purchase some good aftermarket slip-ons if you want a good sounding exhaust.

If you wish to keep your stock exhaust, many people have reported a significant enhancement in exhaust tone and volume by removing the cat convertor in the stock pipe.

You will also reduce the excessive heat the cat produces.

If you wish further performance gains, you can the add a XiED or other fuel enhancers.

Enjoy your new ride.

Will removing the cat cause any engine problems down the line? I ask because I'd like to remove mine but I want to make sure that it doesn't cause any issues.

People been taking them off as long as harley has been putting them on.

Many people buy a replacement pipe where they have been removed. Keep your stock pipe in case your ever want to put it back on.

Have only heard positive things about having them removed.

Here's your plug. You could punch a hole in it or get a 1 1/4" hole saw and drill it out. You will get some more sound but not a lot.
