Default Monster ovals or rounds?

I just bought a new 2012 Ultra limited. Let the mods begin.
The choice in my mind is either Monster ovals or rounds. My previous 08
ultra had ovals , never scrapped them, they looked ok, but they were bulky.
I did like the sound of the ovals a lot , I used to be a Rinehart guy,but I want more mellow now. So, I am thinking maybe monster rounds. What do you think?

I personally think that Rineharts and the V & H Monsters are a bit overpriced... but I think the Monster Rounds will give you the sound you are looking for. I also hear that the new 4in Rineharts are fairly mellow, especially with a "catted" header.

If I had your bike, first thing I would do is "de-cat" the headpipe as that will effect sound, heat and performance.

Another option for a great muffler that is about half the price of the Monsters is the Klockwerks Super Savers 4" with rolled ends and removeable / repackable baffles.

The prior owner put the V&H Monster Ovals on the RG I bought and I think they look awesome. From behind they look perfect under the bags. Better than the rounds in my opinion.

I would personally go with the ovals.

I put the monster rounds on my 11 street glide and love the way they look and sound. Much better than the ovals in my opinion. I think the ovals look too big

Personally I like the Rounds better in appearance, especially from the rear (where most will see them, lol).

The price reflects the quality, and unfortunately, the weight. As you know, if you want them louder, just unwrap the fiberglass from the baffles.

I put monster ovals on mine. They look right with bags. I also flipped the end caps to follow the lines of the bags.

I put the rounds on mine because I like the way they sound and I like the way they look. It looks like the opinions are split so put on the one you like. You can find audios of both of them to check out the sound.

I have the rounds with Power Duals on mine and could not be happier! Not too loud when cruising and plenty loud when on it!

This looks to be a "I like mine the best" thread, and I will not disappoint. I have had the Ovals twice (two bikes) and love em. I actually like the black end caps better than the chrome but this bike came from the showroom floor with chrome.
