Default Batwing bike mirrors

Anyone have touble with seeing your elbows in your mirrors? About half the mirror is my arms and I really can't see right behind me. I was thinking longer stems or fairing mounts.

I was going the fairing mount set up on my 02 EGU just from the pix and responses that others have posted about doing the switch to them. Ended up trading the bike before doing it. Lots of threads on here about it.

Ya. I searched but really not much on longer or custon mirrors, just a lot on fairing mounts. I'm more about the view rather than the look on this one. People around here like to drive up your ***.

The original bar mounted ones were pretty adequate. I bought the "Live to Ride" mirrors and they are a little shorter and my elbows are an issue. I've been thinking, but I hate to spend more money, about getting the long stem "Live to Ride" mirrors. They are taller and on the long stem I'm wonder if there will be vibration issues. Hopefully someone out there is using them. Waiting on your wisdom:-)

I'm like you am a guy that uses his mirrors. Those fairing mirrors are not what you want.
I used these longer stem stock looking mirrors on my 2008 Street Glide: http://www.harley-davidson.com/gma/g...bmLocale=en_US
They come left and right $40 each.

I have 14" apes on mine. I don't have a problem looking through my mirrors.

I went with these; Wicked Image Fast Lane Mirrors

They work real well, as they stick out further on the sides, as the bat-wing mirrors should and do a little bit, but are more "mickey mouse ear" in design.
The Wicked Image mirrors are not plastic either.
I'm runnin' Khrome Werks Sweepers + 2 handlebars too, much more comfy and easier on your back.

Here's W1's with convex blind spots too.

They both come in chrome, black or contrast.
Cheapest place to get them is Direct Harley Parts too.
Hope that helps, put a different spin on fairing mirrors which IMO look cleaner, are are much less obtrusive.
