Default Swapable sissy bar tourpack on a EG

I have a 1992 EG Classic. The bike is in very good cond so I am not thinking of getting newer for a while anyway.

Balance on the bike is better without the tour pac on. I have a two rider version of corbin seats and when I remove the tour pac there is no second rider backrest. I'd like to do this but want to put it back on for along trips. Is there a way to setup some kind of detachable backrest where I don't have to remove all the hard ware for the tour pac. It would be nice to be able to swap them out easly

Harley makes a quick detach tour pac rack for '97 and above Classics. I don't know if this kit could be made to work, but it's a thought.

Harley used to make one for the older bikes(I had one on my 95 Roadking), and you might still be able to find one on E-Bay or left over at a dealer.

Will the backrest for the Corbin Seat not fit in the passanger hole with the tour pac hardware on? If that is the case, you might be able to trim the hardware so that the Corbin backrest will fit without comprimising the integrity of the mount.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Bill

Harley should have a detachable backrest for the mount. My friend has both for his 04' RoadGlide.

I have the removable setup on my bike from Harley. I have one set of docs for tour pac and one set of docsfor rider backrest. They are both removable depending on how you are riding. I also have solo seat. All the swaps are easy to perform. One day I can ride with solo seat. If I am carrying passenger the removable back rest goes on. If I am taking a trip I can throw on the tour pak.
To accomplish this you need to spend some money on 2 sets of docking hardware from Harley and then each seperate component that you want to be removable. Such as backrest, tourpak mount and possibly just a rack. This gives you lots of options but gets spendy.

Harley makes, used to make, a "4 channel luggage rack" that accepts a passenger backrest for your bike. It mounts on in the same four holes that the tour pac mounts in. Once you move the antenna to the saddle bag rail you can do a quick change almost as fast as the new "detachables". I may even have one hanging around it you can't find one from a dealer.
