Default Volt Gauge

started the bike up this weekend to go for a ride and looked at my volt gauge and it was all the way to the right reading 16 volts, put a volt meter on the battery while it was running and it read 14.4 volts, turned the bike off and the meter read 12.6 volts, took it out for about a 3 hour ride when I got back all the readings were the same but the gauge was still at 16 volts. could the gauge be bad or am I missing something??

Bad gauge movement. Replace it.

Out of the 4 batwing bikes I've had, 2 have read correct and 2 have read 16 volts when cranked, including my 2012. It's very annoying.

Tried to get it changed under warranty when I had the bike in the dealership for a week getting cams. They danced around the problem and in the end, the crappy gauge is still there. They'll fix it before the warranty is out though.
