Decreased MPG due to tempreture?
I live in the FL Panhandle where the temps have been in the 40s and 50's during the day. Since then, I have noiced my MPG has steadily declined from about 42 mp to about 34 mpg.
Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this? I've leaned out my map a little also...no effect.
Thanks.

To put it simply, cooler dense air needs more fuel to keep the air fuel ratio. There is a lot more to it with EFI, but the bottom line is you but more fuel in cold air. In cold Michigan winters I go down 5-7 mpg in my truck. A liquid cool engine is better at maintaining a constant temp. My small air cooled engines like my garden tractor really suck fuel in the cold.

Don't know if this is true in FL, but in MN there is a different blend of gas in the winter. Mileage drops 5-10% even if temps are constant, then add to that everything being cold and stiff plus the richer mixture because of the denser air and the longer warm up time.
Although at 11 degrees this morning, I did not want to find out what kind of mileage the bike would get
