Default Lifter Install ??

I'm going to install the VThunder 850-1 lifters which I should have done while installing the SE255 cams.

Well, reading the HD Service Manual, it tells you to install the lifters with the oil hole facing the inboard side which I assume is facing the engine.

Pulled out the stock lifters and the oil holes are facing out away from the engine.

What would you do??????????

The lifter instructions read that because, inboard --- toward the engine, the holes in the lifter and lifter bore pick up oil a .000000000001, +/- .0001, second sooner than facing outboard. Actually it doesn't matter.

Now, "IF" you had ran the lifters it's best to keep them running the same direction for wear. We're not rotating tires here. These are a metal to metal contact surfaces that wear together.

I would follow the manual when you put the new ones in. Like posted above, it won't really make a huge difference, but why go against the manual?
