I have 12 1/2" and I'm 5' 11" if I was to do it again I'd go with 16" but the 12 1/2" are very comfortable for me, a few inches more would be perfect.

 

I had 16" wild one chubbies on my 05 RKC, they felt great!

I am only 5'5, but also had a mustang solo seat on it, which raised me up higher than stock. It sounds strange to have apes on a bagger, but check around the net, I did, and was able to find several good pics of road kings with 16" apes on them.

 

I ran with 16" apes on my 02 RK, put close to 55,000 miles,including a 8125 mile and a 10,045 mile trip,very comfortable no problems. Installed cruise control for the 10,045 mile ride but did not use it much. I am 5'10", when sitting uppracticinggood posture (witch is not veryoften)my arms were straight outshoulder high. Was able to have bars tilting slightlyforward with winshield installed.

I traded my RK for an 07' SG, love the SG but miss my RK big time!!!. I will be riding to Alaska this June and may buy backthe RK for the ride.

Go with the 16" you will not regret it

I have a 03 FLHRCI and mine is in the shop right now getting some work done including wild 1 16'. I went in yesterday to take a look at the work so far and the bars look and feel awsome.

Yep, I really like the looks of Anubiss' bike. Go with the 16'.
