Question forks don't lock

i moved my bars this weekend, removed the ignition switch , switch panel, got 'er done ,, put it back togethr, everything works fine, except the forks won;t lock to the left like they did,, ing. locks ok, all positions work,, can some one help with why the forks wont lock??

The switch is not aligned, pull it back out and look in the hole with a flashlight, make sure both notches are lined up

Should be an easy fix as long as nothing is damaged.

hopefully it is missaligned like dpete mentioned, as it went right back together,, dont think it could be damaged,, but what do i know,,pull it apart in the morning and look at it,, onley takes 5 minutes,,.

I'm not a wrench, but this happend to mine a while back. When the ignition was put back in a washer of some sort was installed upsidedown.

I had the same problem when installing my bars and not closely following the Manual. Ended up retrying multiple times with the bars in the lock position and finally did something right and the ignition locked... At 3am and having an "oh S@#%" moment since I had a ride the next day was not fun.

oh well guess it time for a new switch,, broke the plastic thread where the nut goes on,,s@#&t,,super glued it back on for now,,everything works except the loc for the forks,,looked inside like sugested but can only see one notch,, oh well,,will buy a new one,,can you buy a bare switch,,and change out tumblers like in a car ignition switch??? or do i have to special order one with the right key?? any body know,.

I pulled my switch a while ago to move the bars up. At the time i put it back together everything seemed fine. But i noticed when i turn the bars to the left and put my key in to lock it the forks do lock like they are supposed to but i am still able to turn the switch and start the bike even with the key switch locked.
