I agree about keeping your hands behind the fairing, it makes a huge difference. Having ridden both the 12.5 and the 10 inch wild ones I can tell you definitively the 10 inch are the way to go if that is important to you.
As far as the throttle by wire it's fairly painless, basically there is molex connector that has to go when you run the wires inside the bar. Basic soldering skills and $2 worth of heat shrink tubing will get it done. Alternatively you can buy the Screaming Eagle throttle by wire kit which is about $100 and eliminates this problem.
Again,having just done this for the 10-inch bars I know you will need:
- the bars
- +4 clutch cable
- clutch inspection cover gasket
- Polyurethane riser bushings
- A few zip ties
- soldering iron
- heat shrink tubing
Just sayin don't let the TBW scare you off doing it, rewiring is easy.
