Default Blown Fuse in Battery Tender Harness

Looks like I've blown the in-line fuse in the battery tender harness on my 08 Ultra. Has anyone ever had to change one of these fuses? If so, how the hell did you get to it? From what I can tell, it's going to come down to a) telekinetic powers or b) pulling everything apart down to the battery.

Any help would be appreciated.

Pull seat off, pull ECM up, pull ECM tray up and you will see the top of the battery where the fuse holder will be

I just pull the left side cover to get to my tender fuse.

A fuse blows for a reason they just don't fail. Better check the lead for chaffing.

Yep, that was the ticket. Glad I have a torx 40 bit, otherwise I'd have been stuck with the ECM tray. Now it's off to Auto Zone for some 7.5a fuses.

If I'd been the designer of this harness, I'd have put the fuse holder near the connector end so you wouldn't have to take things apart to replace it.

That would be my concern, what made the fuse blow?

Put a heavier fuse (10A or 15A) in.

I did. Touched leads from my multimeter to wrong contacts.

the fuse needs to be close to the battery for a reason... if it was further away from the battery connection.... & the wire got pinched or shorted out..the wire would get red hot & possibly burn the insulation before the wire burnt into...possible fire hazard... so there is a reason for this..

One interesting tidbit I discovered before I figured out that the tender harness fuse is not in the main fuse block: if you have a security siren, disconnect it before removing any fuses (including the maxi-fuse), otherwise, the siren will go off the moment you remove one.
